Training day – Information day for the application of the geographic information system of public participation (PPGIS) in the Region of Western Greece

Thanks to «Triton», funded by Interreg V-A Greece-Italy, a model of Integrated Coastal Management Zone has been developed among the Regions of Apulia and Western Greece, to suggest decision support tools for the protection of coastal areas from erosion.

The protection of coastal areas, the reduction of the effects of erosion and the adaptation to climate change are and will be of particular interest to the Municipalities and Regions that must be adequately prepared. The training of local government service managers, scientists, active citizens and, of course, political staff of local communities on coastal erosion and modern methods of dealing with them is a prerequisite for the successful treatment of this phenomenon. For this reason, within the «TRITON» project, the Education Day – Information Day for the application of the geographic information system of public participation (PPGIS) will be held virtually on 1 July 2020.
